1. About Us

The Lemon Rooms is an online interior concept design service. Our registered contact email is [email address]. Our website is www.thelemonrooms.com. References to “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to The Lemon Rooms. References to “you” and “your” refer to you, the client.

2. Nature of the Service

We provide a digital interior concept design service. When you place an order, you receive a bespoke concept design document for a single room, based on the photographs, inspiration images, and written brief you submit through our online form.

2.1 Scope of Deliverables

Your concept design document includes:

  • A design overview explaining the thinking behind our choices.

  • Material and furniture suggestions to guide your selections.

  • Concept visuals showing your room reimagined based on your brief.

  • A "Next Steps" guide with practical advice on moving forward.

2.2 Service Exclusions

This is a creative starting point and source of inspiration. It is not a substitute for and should not be treated as:

  • Technical, architectural, or construction-ready drawings.

  • Precise measurements, floor plans, or dimensional specifications.

  • Supplier sourcing, procurement, or project management

  • Building regulations advice, structural assessments, electrical planning, or planning applications.

  • Follow-up consultations, meetings, phone calls, or ongoing correspondence.

  • Multiple design options or rounds of revisions.

2.3 Nature of Concept Visuals â€‹

Our concept visuals are artistic interpretations of your space. They are created using a combination of professional design expertise and digital visualisation tools (including AI-assisted technology). They are illustrative and not dimensionally accurate. They should not be relied upon for construction decisions, furniture purchasing commitments, or technical specifications.

Colours, textures, materials, and proportions shown in concept visuals are indicative. Actual products, finishes, and spatial outcomes may differ from the visuals provided.

3. Your Responsibilities

3.1 Accuracy of Submissions

The quality of your concept is directly related to the quality of the materials you submit. You are responsible for completing the briefing form with sufficient detail and accuracy to allow us to understand your vision. You are responsible for providing clear, well-lit photographs taken in accordance with our [Photo Guide].

We accept no liability for concepts based on incorrect dimensions, photo distortions, misleading images, or incomplete briefs provided by you. Our designers work from the information you submit, and the concept is only as accurate as the materials it is based on.

3.2 Rights to Content

You confirm that you own or have permission to share any images you upload. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to use these images for the purpose of creating your concept design.

3.3 Clarification Requests

If the materials you submit are insufficient for us to proceed (for example, photographs are too dark or do not show the room adequately), we may contact you to request clarification or additional materials before we begin work. This does not constitute a consultation or revision process. It is a quality check to ensure we can deliver a meaningful concept.

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices are displayed in GBP (£). If we are VAT registered, prices include VAT. Payment is taken upfront via our secure payment system (processed by Stripe through Wix). We reserve the right to change our prices at any time, but any price changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed.

5. Delivery

Your concept design document will be delivered digitally, typically by email, within the timeframe stated on our website at the time of your order. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. We will make every reasonable effort to meet the stated timeline. If there is likely to be a significant delay, we will let you know as soon as possible.

6. Statutory Cancellation Rights (UK/EU)

As our service is provided entirely online at a distance, you have statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Equivalent rights may apply to customers in the EU and other jurisdictions.

6.1 The 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of the date the contract is formed (the date you receive our order confirmation email), without giving a reason. To cancel, please contact us in writing at [email address] stating your name, order reference, and your wish to cancel. We will process your refund within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice, using the same payment method you used to place your order.

6.2 Express Request for Early Commencement

If you want us to begin work immediately (to meet our 1-week delivery estimate), you must tick the “Start My Design Now” box at checkout. By doing so, you acknowledge that:

  • You are expressly requesting that we begin providing the service before the cancellation period ends.

  • If we complete the service (deliver your concept document) within the cancellation period, you will lose your right to cancel.

  • If you cancel after we have begun work but before delivery, you will be required to pay a reasonable amount for the work already completed, proportionate to the full price of the service.

This consent must be given actively and cannot be assumed from general acceptance of these terms.

7. Refund Policy

Our approach to refunds reflects the bespoke nature of this service. Each concept is created individually for you, based on your specific brief, photographs, and inspiration. It cannot be resold or reused.

7.1 When a Refund Is Available

  • If you cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period and we have not yet begun work on your concept, you are entitled to a full refund.

  • If you cancel within the cooling-off period after requesting that work begin, you are entitled to a refund less a proportionate charge for work already completed.

  • If we are unable to deliver the service for any reason (for example, due to circumstances on our end), you will receive a full refund.

7.2 Change of Mind

Because our services are bespoke and digital, refunds are not available for "change of mind" or subjective dissatisfaction with aesthetic choices once work has commenced.

7.3 When a Refund Is Not Available

Once your completed concept design document has been delivered, refunds are not available on the basis that:

  • You do not like the design direction or aesthetic choices. Our designers apply their professional judgment based on your brief and inspiration, and creative outcomes are inherently subjective.

  • The concept does not match an expectation that was not communicated in your brief.

  • You have changed your mind about the room, the project, or the service after delivery.

  • The visuals do not look exactly like a finished, renovated room. As stated in these terms, concept visuals are artistic interpretations, not photorealistic guarantees.

7.4 Genuine Quality Concerns

If you believe your concept does not reasonably reflect the brief you submitted, or if there is a clear error in the deliverable (for example, the wrong room was designed), please contact us at [email address]. We take genuine concerns seriously and will review them fairly. Depending on the circumstances, we may offer to re-examine the brief and provide a corrected or revised concept, offer a partial refund, or offer a discount on a future order. Any resolution is at our reasonable discretion and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

7.5 Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this refund policy affects your statutory rights. Under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be provided with "reasonable care and skill"; where they are not, you may be entitled to a repeat performance or price reduction. For international customers, including those in Australia, any non-excludable statutory consumer guarantees provided by your local law also apply and are not limited or excluded by these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Intellectual Property

To the fullest extent permitted by law, all concept designs, visuals, written content, and materials produced by The Lemon Rooms (the “Work”) remain our intellectual property unless expressly agreed otherwise. The Work is a composite of our professional design judgment, creative direction, and curation, assisted by digital tools.

8.2 Client Licence

You receive a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the concept document for your own private, non-commercial purposes. You may not resell or commercially exploit our work.

8.3 What You May Not Do

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

  • Use our work for any commercial purpose, including marketing or selling property.

  • Resell, sublicence, or transfer the concept to a third party.

  • Present our work as your own or remove any attribution to The Lemon Rooms.

  • Publish our work in any publication, blog, website, or media outlet.

You're welcome to share concept visuals on your personal social media with credit to The Lemon Rooms. For any other public use, please contact us for permission.

8.4 Marketing Usage

We will not use identifiable images of your home for our portfolio or marketing without your separate, explicit opt-in consent.

If you are happy for us to feature anonymised or generalised versions of our completed work (not your original photographs) in our portfolio and marketing, we will ask for your permission at the point of order. You may withdraw this consent at any time.

9. Use of AI-Assisted Technology

Our design process incorporates AI-assisted visualisation tools directed by human design expertise. Each Concept Design Document constitutes an original composite work, where our designers provide the essential creative arrangements necessary for its creation—including professional brief analysis, specific prompt engineering, curation of digital outputs, and bespoke written design guidance. While AI tools are used for visualisation, the final deliverable represents the product of our professional judgment and creative direction. You acknowledge that AI-generated visuals are artistic impressions and illustrative concepts only; they are not dimensionally accurate, and variations in colour, texture, or spatial proportion are inherent to this technology.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Lemon Rooms provides a concept design service for inspiration and guidance. Subject to your statutory rights and Clause 10.2, we accept no liability for any decisions, purchases, or outcomes arising from the use of our concept documents, including but not limited to:

  • Furniture, materials, or product purchases made based on our suggestions or visuals.

  • Renovation, construction, or decorating work undertaken based on our concept.

  • Any discrepancy between the concept visuals and the actual appearance of a finished room.

  • Decisions made by contractors, tradespeople, or other professionals based on our concept document.

Our concept documents are not a substitute for professional architectural, structural, or technical advice. If you are planning structural changes, you should engage a qualified architect, surveyor, or contractor.

10.1 Liability Cap

Subject to section 10.2, our total liability for any claim arising from our service is limited to the price you paid for the relevant concept package.

10.2 Mandatory Protections

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any matter for which it would be unlawful to exclude liability under English Law (including statutory consumer guarantees).

11. Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, available on our website. By using our service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy. Please note that your agreement to these Terms & Conditions does not constitute consent for marketing or the use of your home photos in our portfolio; such activities require separate, explicit opt-in consent as detailed in Section 8.4.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us at [email address]. We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 working days and to resolve matters fairly and promptly. If we are unable to resolve a dispute, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) service or the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform, although we are not currently required to participate in ADR.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website with the updated date shown at the top of this page. Changes will not apply retroactively to orders already confirmed.

14. Governing Law

14.1 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing in these terms affects the mandatory consumer protection rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence.

14.2 International Users

While we operate under English Law, we acknowledge that users in other jurisdictions (such as Australia or the EU) may benefit from mandatory local consumer protections that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these terms is intended to limit those mandatory rights.
